A true Rocky Mountain House family business, Rocky Mountain Cannabis was founded by siblings Terri and Nathan, who’ve called this community home since 1993, and Terri’s husband Matt who was born and raised in Southern Saskatchewan until he moved to Alberta in 2000.  

All three come from an Oilfield background – in 1998 The Turner family started up TNT Hydro Vac & Line Locators Ltd. where both Nathan and Terri worked for many years and Matt has surveyed and line located all over Alberta. 

 After successfully working as a family unit and eventually taking over the oilfield company, they agreed it was time for a change of pace and a change of industry. Rocky Mountain Cannabis was officially launched in their hometown in August 2019, followed by a Red Deer location in March 2024. 

Today, along with Terri’s husband Matt, they balance running both cannabis stores and the family’s Hydrovac business while remaining actively involved in the community – from coaching hockey at the same Rocky Regional Centre where they once played, to serving the diverse needs of local residents, oil patch workers, farmers, and tourists throughout Central Alberta.
